We recently sold a house for Mr and Mrs Jordan. They were so delighted with our performance (after trying other estate agents to sell their home) that they wrote us a little poem of thanks.

Forgoing the more traditional words that rhyme with Pavey (gravy, navy etc.) the Jordans decided to create their own words, much like Shakespeare – and we’re sure, just like Shakespeare’s new words, they will soon move into the common lexicon.

We think the poem is great, and we fully expect the Jordans to be challenging for the role of Poet Laureate when Carol Ann Duffy’s tenure comes to an end. The poem is copied, in full, below and it’s sure to delight, amuse and amaze you.

To An Estate Agent

James Du Pavey, James Du Pavey
To all other agents we “goodbye wavey”,
We should have picked you first time round
And saved ourselves many a pound.

James Du Pavey, James Du Pavey,
Your good name is what we cravey
You outshine all the others
We’ll get behind you; sisters and brothers!

James Du Pavey, James Du Pavey,
Gizza’ job! We’ll be your slavey
Your blurb is great – your pics the best,
There’s no doubt, you beat the rest.

James Du Pavey, James Du Pavey,
As agents go you’re very bravey,
You sell ‘em fast, you sell ‘em good,
You sell ‘em like the others should!

Mr and Mrs Jordan – more happy clients!
